Using your Cyprus Spit to its full Potential

You now own your Cyprus spit. Maybe you've tried using the larger skewers or the smaller ones to skewer some kebabs or roasted a chicken or leg on the spit, or maybe you've learned about some of the other fantastic cooking methods and recipes this spit offers. Though there are so many uses for this spit, we believe you'll find some of our favourite Cyprus-inspired tips and recipes to be useful.

 

1. Windshields

By adding windshields to your Cyprus, you can shield the food from the wind, maintain a constant temperature, and cook meals more quickly.

2. The multi-use basket

There are a lot more options for cooking meat and vegetables on your spit when you add a multipurpose basket to your Cyprus. While the meat is cooking on a different skewer, fill the basket with your favorite vegetables. In the basket, you may also prepare other foods like chicken wings, steak, hamburgers, butterfly cuts, and more.

3. Adjustable grill height

The stainless steel grill that comes with the Flaming Coals Cyprus Spits is excellent for charcoal grilling. Did you know that the height-adjustable pieces are connected to shelves on either end of the spit? To adjust the grilling height, simply place the stainless steel grill on these shelves.

4. Add an Auspit Spitmate

The large skewer of the spit is attached to a perforated barrel called the Spitmate. It works well for tossing chicken wings or potatoes. See our favorite potato recipe!

 

5. Put a cast iron camp oven right on the coals

Stews, baking, roasting, and simmering sauces all work well in camp ovens. Many camp ovens are available here.
